Woodscrews are threaded along their half-length, with a slotted domed head (flat head) and zinc or stainless steel plated. They are generally small in diameter and length. Wood and chipboard screws have the property that they can be screwed in without making a pre-hole.
They are simply known as “wood screws” because they are designed for use with wooden workpieces.
